Cream or Jam First?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/8693450.stm

It's not quite as fundamental as the chicken or egg question, but when it comes to making the perfect scone, it's a decision you have to make. Personally, and I have plenty of experience with this, it entirely depends on the consistency of the cream. They have to sit on top of each other without mixing, thus the heaviest, densest, thickest... has to come first. Therefore, if we're discussing the proper, quintessential cream tea involving nothing but the best clotted cream, well then obviously it has to be cream first!

The best way to prove this theory is to try it. It tastes good too :)

Hi Kate,

It is now 16.40 pm and the only thing I have eaten uptil now is three sandwiches, so you can imagine that the picture is making me extremely hungry. This means, for the future, that I am going to think twice before I take a look at your blog:) haha.

Regards,

Jasper

By the way; I am certainly going to try this, it looks delicious:).

Dear Kate,

I would put the cream on top, as I don't mind the mixing. Also, I love it when the clotted cream reached my palat before I discover the jam with my teeth.

Hmmm, this is something to keep in mind as I will be leaving for England (for Stay Abroad) coming Tuesday morning.

I am so looking forward to the trip and cannot wait until I will finally be in the plane.

Hope UKOK will go okay for you this year.

Dear Kate,

Your blog made me hungry... Véry hungry... So I thought to myself, what is the best way in order to satisfy my oh so rumbling tummy?

The answer was of course simple... I therefor have tested your theory, and have come to the conclusion that you couldn't be more right. Even though the taste remains the same, it's the eye that wants to have a treat as well every now and then!

I lol'ed when I read your blog though.. keep 'em coming! =)

Roel over and out... Going to eat some yum yums again...
